We are on a mission to build Africa's capabilities and capacity in space policy, strategy, law, governance and leadership.
Courses
Effective Governance of Space Institutions
In this course, participants will learn how to structure a space organisation based on the national space policy/strategy and how an organisation pursues its mandates and national goals while keeping to its international obligations. Participants will also learn the role of boards, governance and oversight functions.

Highlights
Africa-UK Space Tour
ASLI participated in the first Africa-UK Space Tour organised by InnovateUK KTN, RISA and RIIS. Participants of the tour visited London (Royal Aeronautical Society and Seraphim Space), Leicester (Leicester Space Park and National Space Center), Harwell (Satellite Applications Catapult, OpenCosmos and ESA Business Incubation Center), Edinburgh (Scottish Parliament, Space Scotland and Scottish Africa Business Association) and Glasgow (Skyrora and University of Strathclyde).
1st AU-EU Space Dialogue
ASLI contributed to discussions on AU-EU space partnership, with focus on GMES & Africa, Satnav Africa and IRIS2.
74th International Astronautical Congress (IAC)
ASLI presented a paper titled “Filling the Gaps in Space Leadership in Africa,” and participated in the exhibitions.
US-Africa Commercial Space Stakeholders Meeting
Dr Val Munsami and Etim Offiong moderated sessions on Earth Observation and GNSS respectively.
